Description
Highly absorbent sterile Hydrocellular Medication, made of trilayered polyurethane with a mild silicone gel adhesive support layer even for the most fragile skins. In the presence of exudate the dressing helps maintain a humid environment on the injury, favoring healing. Allevyn Gentle absorbs and retains fluids even under compression and is able to favor the die discharge. The dressing is easy to apply and remove and thanks to its characteristics of flexibility and conformability to complex anatomical zones (e.g. knee) is soft and comfortable for the patient.

Property
The dressing absorbs the exudate in 2 phases:
1. Vertical: to avoid maceration of perilesional skin.
2. Horizontal: to exploit all the absorbent capacity of the tampon.
The dressing provides an effective barrier to the entry of bacteria by protecting the injury from invasive pathogenic microorganisms and thus promoting faster healing.
Thanks to the properties of the external film the dressing is waterproof to the fluids.
The dressing can be cut out to adapt it to the most difficult to dress and also used under compressed bandage.
The delicate adhesive made of silicone gel makes the dressing suitable for use even for fragile skin, moreover the dressing can be lifted and repositioned without losing the properties of adherence.
The contact layer and mild adhesive in silicone gel minimize injury and perilesional skin trauma and removal pain.
The medication is well tolerated by the skin and minimizes the risk of irritation, and is comfortable for the patient.
The dressing has extensibility properties in both directions, favoring conformation to complex anatomical zones and joints.
The dressing can stay in place up to a maximum of 7 days, compatibly with the clinical conditions of the injury. The average time of stay varies from 3 to 7 days depending on the type of injuries treated. If the dressing is applied to the sacred area, it can be left in place up to 5 days.
The dressing is radiant.
The product does not contain natural resins and rubbers (lattice) that represent an allergen potential.
The product does not contain phthalates.

Composition
-Contact layer with wound: perforated polyurethane film, entirely coated with delicate silicone gel adhesive, also for the most fragile skins, which adheres softly to the perilesional skin but not to the wound, allowing an atraumatic removal of the dressing without damaging the granulation fabric. Perforation allows the passage of fluids produced from the wound bed to the central, absorbent layer.
-Intermediate section: hydrophilic polyurethane foam with mixed cells hydrocellular structure with polyethyleneglycol particles. The structure and size of the cells ensure that all the exudate absorbed (both for capillary and for cellular absorption) is held inside the foam, thus limiting the risk of leakage and the consequent danger of maceration of the perilesional skin. In addition to the exudate, cell debris and bacteria are also absorbed and retained. The size of the cells, mixed with small and medium dimensions, also produce a "seat" effect that favors the discharge of pressure forces, the same that generate the ulcer.
-External section: colored polyurethane film (natural pigments) waterproof to liquids and bacteria, equipped with high permeability to gases and dynamic breathability able to maintain the humid environment on the wound bed and to remove excess excessed for evaporation avoiding skin maceration.

Conservation
Store in a dry place at a temperature below 25°C.
Validity of whole packaging: 24 months.
