Descrizione Clinica
active ingredients
One tablet contains: praziquantel 50 mg, pirantel emboned 144 mg, phenbendazole 200 mg.Excellent
Corn starch, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, povidone, sodium glyculate starch (Tipo A), talc, magnesium stereate, colloidal silica anidra.Contraindications
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to active ingredients or one of the excipients. Do not simultaneously use other pesticides containing piperazine and/or phosphorganic derivatives.Population
To be administered exclusively by mouth. The recommended dose is 5 mg/kg praziquantel, 14.4 mg/kg embonated pirantel and 20 mg/kg phenbendazole (i.e. 1 tablet/10 kg body weight). A single dose will be sufficient for routine treatments. In order to ensure proper dosage, body weight must be determined as accurately as possible. The correct dosage must be established by the veterinarian. In case of diagnosis of elmintiase, the treatment will be repeated after 14 days. Mode of administration: the tablet can be administered directly by mouth or mixed with food after crushing it. During treatment it is not necessary to leave the animal to fast. In cases where the infestation is confirmed by baskets or nematodes, a monovalent product containing a cestodicida or nematodicida will be used.Conservation
Store at temperature below +25 degrees C. Store in a dry place, sheltered from light. Store in the original packaging. Eliminate and therefore do not retain any residue of tablet. Put the halved tablet in the package.Warnings
Pirantel should be administered with caution in caching dogs. It can develop resistance from parasites to any particular class of anti-elmintics following frequent and repeated use of an anti-elmintic of that class. Fleas act as intermediate guests and source of infection for a common type of flat worm, the Dipylidium caninum. Flat worm infestations can reappear if intermediate guests are not kept under control as well as the surrounding environment, at the same time as treatment. It is recommended to keep dogs closed for 24 hours after treatment and to properly disposed of the excrete feces, containing whole worms, segments and eggs. It is recommended to often clean and disinfect the environment in which animals live. In debilitated or severely haunted animals, the product must be used only after risk/benefit assessment. Use on animals with less than 6 weeks of life may not be necessary. Feed control analysis or treatment with a nematocida product may be necessary in case of infections from Ancylostoma caninum or Toxocara canis. Special precautions for those who administer the veterinary medicinal product to animals: in case of accidental ingestion, immediately turn to a doctor showing him the leaflet or label. People with hypersensitivity to praziquantel, embonated pirantel or fenbendazole must avoid contact with the veterinary medicinal product. Wash your hands after use. Keep children away from dogs on days after treatment. Overdosage: In clinical trials concerning tolerance, target animal species, clinical, hematologic and biochemical parameters are not significant even when administering the correct dosage for 5 times during 3 days. Overdose of this medicine can occur very rarely in real conditions of use due to its wide range of therapeutics. If you have to show suspicious toxic reactions due to extreme dosage, the treatment you have to start, if necessary, will have to be symptomatic.Interactions
Do not use piperazin-based preparations at the same time as the anti-elmintic effects of pirantel and piperazin may be antagonists. Similarly, do not administer in conjunction with phosphorganics and diethylcarbamazine. Because of the mechanism of similar action and toxicological characteristics, do not use the anti-elmintic present at the same time as the morantel and combinations of the morantel.Source: Farmadati
