Mepitel One
PROTECTIVE MEDICATION WITH CONTACT STRATEEL IN SILICONE
Description
Medication with contact layer studied for the management of a wide range of exudatory wounds such as painful wounds, lacerations, abrasions, surgical incisions, partial thick burns, traumatic wounds, skin tears, skin grafts, skin injury from radiotherapy and lower limb ulcers. It can also be used as a protective layer on non-exploding wounds or on fragile skin.
It does not adhere to wet surfaces, like those of open wounds. It conforms to the skin pores, covering a greater skin surface and distributing the tear forces at the time of its removal, avoiding skin stripping phenomena. It seals the margins of the wound, ensuring the containment of the exudate and minimizing maceration.
Mode of use
Clean the wound according to clinical practice and dry the perilesional skin;
choose a dressing measure that covers the wound and the perilesional skin with a margin of at least 2 cm beyond the area to be treated. For larger wounds, more margin is required. If more than one medication is required, overlay the medications by paying attention not to obstruct the pores;
remove a part of the protection film using the overlapped margins and apply the dressing with the contact layer on the lesion;
remove the remaining part of the protection film spread well, so as to ensure a good adherence to the perilesional skin;
apply if required a secondary absorbent dressing above Mepitel One and favor its fixing. It can be left in situ until 14 days, depending on the condition of the wound and the perilesional skin (the exudate must be free to go through the dressing and the pores should not be obstructed), or as indicated by the clinical practice in use.
Conservation
The sterility conditions of the packaging are guaranteed, unless the inner casing is damaged or opened before use. Don't resterilize.
