Flaminal
Description
Enzymatic Alginogel, a new class of wound medication. Flaminal hydro covers and protects the wound. Enzymatic alginogels combine a unique set of physical-chemical properties that favor the wet healing of wounds of different origin, promote the continuous debridement of wounds and protect the edges of the wound, along with an antimicrobial activity on a wide spectrum of microorganisms, which can greatly slow the wound healing process.
Mode of use
1. Before the application of Flaminal (hydro or strong) it is recommended to clean the wound and surrounding area.
2. Cover the entire wound bed with a thick enough layer (e.g. 4-5 mm) of Flaminal hydro or, in case of wounds with moderate or high exudation, of strong Flaminal.
Flaminal (hydro or strong) can be applied in the following ways, for example directly from the tube, directly on the dressing, with a spatula, with a spout or with a syringe.
3. Cover Flaminal (hydro or strong) with a dressing. The choice of dressing should be based on the type of injury.
Lightly or moderately exudatory wound: transparent film (polyurethane) or non-adherent dressing fixed by a non-adherent bandage, for example a paraffin gauze.
From moderate to strongly exudatory: non-stick absorbent dressing fixed with a non-stick bandage or with a hypoallergenic adhesive tape.
4. Check the dressing every day.
The dressing with Flaminal (Hydro or Forte) can stay in place until the structure of the gel is intact (from 1 to 4 days, depending on the amount of excised).
In case of insufficient losses or gel, you need to change Flaminal (Hydro and Forte) and apply a new dressing.
5. To each change of dressing/cleaning of the wound:
• clean well the wound and surrounding area;
• remove all whitish scales of alginate from the wound and leave only those on the edge of the wound. Sharks prevent wound edge weakening and maceration (softening and breaking of the skin due to prolonged exposure to moisture). Maceration slows down the wound healing process.
Components
Alginate [contenuto totale di alginato 3,5% (g/g)], macrogol, hydroxypropylcellulose, enzymatic system (oxidase glucose, lactoperoxidase, glucose, sheath), potassium sorbate, potassium iodine, tampon, purified water Ph. Eur.
Warnings
Do not use Flaminal (hydro or strong) in case of allergic reaction known to any of the ingredients.
Only for external use.
The first time a patient is treated for wounds that could reach the level of bones and joints or with bones and joints exposed, the patient must be observed for at least 30 minutes after the administration of Flaminal (Hydro or Forte).
Some wounds may require additional treatment. Consult a doctor or wound specialist.
Flaminal (Hydro and Forte) can be used on infected wounds only under medical control.
The gel has a slight smell caused by alginates. This smell does not affect the healing process. In case of sudden and distinct smell, consult a doctor or a specialist in wounds.
Flaminal (Hydro and Forte) cannot be used on eyelids or eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with running water and consult a doctor.
Do not use the product if you notice that it is damaged or opened unintentionally before use.
Conservation
Store at room temperature (under 25 °C) in a dry place and in the original packaging.
