Descrizione Clinica
Pic G Safeluco Monitor
Description
Glucometer for blood glucose measurement.
The glucose in the blood sample is mixed with the reagent of the strip and generates a low electrical current. The power level generated depends on the blood glucose concentration.
Pic Safeluco Monitor measures the generated current and converts it into a blood glucose concentration value. The latter is displayed on the LCD display of the glucometer.
The 8-electrode strip ensures high accuracy and precision.
Technical specifications
Mode of use
To achieve accurate results, allow the glucometer to acclimatize in the environment of use. The operating temperature must be between 5 °C and 45 °C.
If the ambient temperature is lower or higher than the operating range of the glucometer, a thermometer icon appears on the display. Move the glucometer into an environment between 5-45 °C, wait for 30 minutes and run the test. Do not heat or cool the glucometer artificially.
Take a new strip from the container and close it carefully. Insert the strip into the dedicated door, the glucometer will automatically turn on. When the blood strip and drop symbol appears, the glucometer is ready to measure.
Bring your finger with the blood drop near the strip until the blue color window is completely filled with blood. The blood is automatically sucked into the strip.
If the sound signal has been set, the glucometer warns that the measurement has begun. After the blood was applied to the strip begins a countdown from 5 to 1 appearing on the display. When the 5 seconds are finished, the result appears on the screen in mg/dL or mmol/L.
To achieve precise results do not let it spend more than 20 seconds between blood sample collection and measurement. The blood sample must be at least 0.5 mcL. The glucometer stores the date and time of measurement.
If the test result is less than 70 mg/dL or if LO is written, this may indicate hypoglycemia. This situation requires immediate intervention by a doctor. Although the result may be due to an unlikely error, it is preferable to intervene immediately and repeat the measurement later.
If the result is higher than 180 mg/dL or HI is written, this may indicate hyperglycemia. If you do not have symptoms, first repeat the test. If you continue to get the same results or if you have symptoms, consult your doctor about the actions to take.
Cleaning of the glucometer
Avoid dust.
If you need to clean the glucometer, carefully follow the following directions. Avoid penetration of blood, moisture, dirt, dust in the insertion door of the strip to avoid glucometer malfunctions.
To clean the glucometer use a damp rag without lanugine. Carefully squeeze the cloth before use. Do not use abrasive cloth or antiseptic solution as they may damage the screen.
Conservation
Store the glucometer, strips, control solution along with their respective manuals.
Store strips at an ambient temperature between 2 °C and 30 °C. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Freezing and thawing can cause inaccurate glycemic results.
Maintain the insertion door of the strip free from dust.
Do not expose strips to moisture and direct sunlight and keep them in a cool and dry place. After removing the strip, close the container thoroughly. The strip container is able to maintain the correct moisture. Therefore do not transfer strips to containers other than those provided.
Keep the Pic Safe Glucocontrol control solution at a temperature between 2°C and 30°C.
Validity of whole packaging (reactive strips): 24 months.
Post-opening validation (reactive strips): six months.
