Description
Quick screening test with one action, for semi-quantitative determination of alcohol in saliva.
For autotest, not for in vitro diagnostic use.
Mode of use
Before testing, allow the reactive strip to reach the ambient temperature (15-30 °C). Do not put anything in your mouth for 15 minutes before the start of the test. This includes soft drinks, tobacco products, coffee, mints and food, etc.
1. Sputate the saliva in the collection container.
2. Open the aluminum box and remove the reactive strip for the test. Observe reactive lump at the end of the Strip. If, before applying the saliva sample, the reactive buffer is blue, do not use it.
3. Saturate the reactive buffer with the saliva from the collection container or by applying the saliva directly on the buffer. (Normally it takes 6-8 seconds for saturation). Immediately after the application of the saliva, start the timer.
4. Read the result after 2 minutes. Compare the color of the reactive tampon with the color chart on the aluminum box to determine the relative concentration of alcohol in the blood.
Positive: the reactive strip for rapid alcolimetric tests will change in color in the presence of alcohol in the saliva. The color may vary from heavenly with a relative concentration of blood alcohol of 0.50 g/liter up to dark blue with a relative concentration of blood alcohol near 1.50 g/liter. This range of swab colors allows you to obtain an approximate value of the relative concentration of alcohol in the blood. The test can produce colors that seem to be between two adjacent coloured pads.
NOTE: the reactive strip for rapid alcolimetric tests is very sensitive to alcohol. A lighter blue color of the coloured tampon corresponding to 0.50 g/liter should be interpreted as positive in the presence of alcohol in the saliva but with a relative concentration of alcohol in the blood below 0.50 g/liter.
Negative: if the reactive strip for rapid alcolimetric tests does not show any color change, this result should be interpreted as negative, to indicate that the presence of alcohol has not been detected.
Null: If, before applying the saliva sample, the reactive buffer is blue, do not use it.
NOTE: If the outer edges of the coloured swab produce a slight coloring, but most of the swab remains colourless, the test should be repeated to ensure the complete saturation of the swab with the saliva. The test cannot be reused.
Components
Reagents: tetramethylbenzidine, oxidizing alcohol (EC 1.1.3.13), perioxidase (EC) 1.11.1.7), other additives.
Warnings
- Read the entire package leaflet before running the test.
- For autotest, not for in vitro diagnostics.
- Just for outside use.
- Do not use the test after the printed expiration date on the package.
- Do not use the test if the aluminum envelope is torn or damaged.
- Disposable. Dispose after first use.
- The test device must remain in the sealed envelope until use.
- A sample of contaminated or contaminated urine can give false results.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
Restrictions
1. If after eating, drinking or smoking, you do not wait 15 minutes before testing, you can get incorrect results, due to the possible contamination of saliva with substances that interfere.
2. The reactive strip for rapid alcolimetric tests is very sensitive to the presence of alcohol. Alcohol vapours in the air can sometimes be identified by the reactive strip for rapid alcoholic testing. Alcohol vapors are present in many public buildings and houses. Alcohol is a component of many household products such as disinfectants, deodorants, perfumes and glass cleaners. If alcohol vapours occur in the environment, it is recommended to test in a vapour-free area.
3. The intake or use of counter medicines and alcohol-containing products can produce positive results.
Conservation
The test must be kept at 2-30°C (36-86 °F) in its sealed aluminium packaging. If storage temperatures exceed 30°C, the test performance could worsen. If the product is refrigerated, the test must be carried at room temperature before opening the envelope.
Validity of whole packaging: 24 months.
Format
Packaging: test strip, collection container, leaflet.
