Panacur 250 mg tablets: 1/2 tablet (= 125 mg fenbendazole) for 2.5 kg body weight; 1 tablet (= 250 mg phenbendazole) for 5 kg body weight. Panacur strong 500 mg tablets: 1/2 tablet (= 250 mg phenbendazole) for 5 kg body weight; 1 tablet (= 500 mg fenbendazole) for 10 kg body weight. The treatment must be repeated for 3 consecutive days. Dogs: shred the tablets and mix them to the food. It is also possible to melt the tablets with little water and mix everything to food. Cats: dissolve with little water the tablets and mix them to food. It is advisable to administer the tablets by mixing them to a first part of the daily food ration, so as to ensure their complete intake. It is not recommended to administer tablets such as or dissolved in water to fast animals to avoid a possible decrease in effectiveness. Avoid administering milk simultaneously. A subdose could lead to a lack of effectiveness and could favor the development of resistance. To ensure a correct dosage, determine body weight with the highest possible accuracy.Conservation

Tablets have a neutral taste. For both animal species, in order to obtain effective control of gastrointestinal nematodes, cestodes and jardiase in the dog, the treatment should be carried out according to the results of the parasitic examination on the feces. The unnecessary use of pesticides or the use of diphforms from the instructions provided in this summary of the characteristics of the product can increase the pressure of selection of the resistance and can reduce its effectiveness. The decision to use the veterinary medicinal product must be based on the confirmation of the parasitic species and the parasitic charge, or on the risk of infestation based on the epidemiological characteristics, for each individual animal. Care must be taken to avoid the following practices that may increase the risk of resistance development and may ultimately result in in ineffective therapy: too frequent and repeated use of antielmintics of the same class, for a extended period of time; subdose of the veterinary medicinal product, which may be due to an underestimation of the body weight of the animal, incorrect administration of the veterinary medicinal product or loss of calibration of the doser. It is also recommended to verify the success of the treatment (for example, checking the clinical aspect and counting of eggs in the feces). Clinical cases of suspected anti-elmintic resistance should be further examined using appropriate methods (e.g. egg count reduction test in feces (FECRT). Where the results of diagnostic methods clearly indicate resistance to a particular anti-elmintic, an anti-elmintic belonging to another pharmacological class and having a different mechanism of action must be used. Special precautions for safe use in target species: it must be taken into account the possibility that other livestock may be a source of re-infestation from gastrointestinal nematodes, and these must be treated, according to necessity, with a suitable veterinary medicinal product. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: wash your hands after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke during administration. This veterinary medicine can be toxic if ingested by man. This veterinary medicine can cause hypersensitivity reactions. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucosa.
