The DonJoy X-Act ROM elbow brace is designed to provide support and immobilization to the elbow. It can be suitable for use following stable fractures. Provides immobilization or controlled movement of the limb or segment of the body.
Stabilized fractures.
Repair to the biceps.
Lesions of soft tissue.
Post-artroscopy and post-trauma.
Mode of use
1. Unlock the joint. The X-Act Rom elbow is packaged in blocked position. To unlock the tutor, move the red fast lock button away from the center of the joint.
2. Place the tutor. Place the central point of the joint on the lateral epichondyl (externally to the elbow). Note: After applying the tutor, the red fast lock button must be under the elbow.
3. Adjust the lengths for the arm. While the joint is aligned with the epocondyl (central point of the elbow) adjust the position of all four bracelets. Press the slider button and place both bracelets for the forearm first and then both bracelets for the biceps in the position of interest. Note: make sure that the next bracelet of the biceps extends into the most comfortable position without interfering with the armpit and that the anterior distal bracelet is placed above the styloid process (side brace). Do not try to remove cursors from the joint bar.
4a. Apply the guardian. Unplug the four fastening buckles on the sliders by turning the release end up so that the clip is expelled from the cursor. Put your arm in the brace.
4b. Starting with the bracelets closer to the elbow, wrap the bracelets around forearm and biceps.
5. Fix the straps. Starting from the wrist, click each of the fast-tracking buckles on the cursor bar, making sure you hear a “click”. String the straps so that they are adherents. Cut them according to need. Remove the toothed tab; shorten the strap and put the tab back. NOTE: The biceps belt padding is included with the tutor for greater comfort and to prevent movement.
6. Adjust the range of movement of the joint. The X-Act elbow brace allows a full movement radius with 10 degrees increments from -10 to 120 degrees of bending. To adjust the settings, press the bending and extension buttons and move them to the recommended motion radius.
7. Quick locking. To prevent a given movement, scroll the red fast lock button in blocked position. The X-Act elbow brace can be blocked at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 or 90 degree bending.
8. Adaptation to the patient. If necessary, with each brace are included clamps. Switch a clamp into the holes of the extension and bending buttons to maintain the recommended range adjustments.
9. Removal and new application of the X-Act Rom elbow brace. Slightly train the straps of each bracelet and unplug the clip on the cursors by turning it upwards so that it is expelled from the cursor. Train the bracelets. Re-apply the guardian effortlessly with a hand. Align the joint to the elbow. Wrap the bracelets around the arm so that they are adherent. Fix the buckles in the sliders and tighten the straps so that they are adherent.
Maintenance
Remove the braided coverings and tutor straps and wash them by hand in cold water with a delicate detergent. Rinse thoroughly. Allow to dry exclusively in the air, do not use heat sources. It is recommended to regularly clean the guardian.
