Descrizione Clinica
Clinical thermometer
Description
Clinical glass thermometer for body temperature measurement. Thermometric liquid contains a mixture of liquid metals, ie gallium, indium, pond.
These materials are absolutely non-toxic and minimize risks both for individuals and the environment.
How to use
To lower the temperature with the temperature chart, close the thermometer inside the case.
Clean and completely disinfect the thermometer before and after use. Before making temperature measurement, check that the thermometer liquid column is slightly below the first numbered notch (35 ° C). To optimize the thermometer response time it is advisable to prevent the fluid column to take too far below this value. To drop the column of the thermometric liquid it is necessary to keep it firmly and shake it with repeated movements of the wrist. Choose the temperature measurement mode: oral or axillary following the instructions. To avoid errors, the duration of the measurement must be at least four minutes. The measurement range includes the values from 35.5 ° to 42 °. The temperature of the human body is identified by the fluid column in the graduated thermometric scale embossed in the thermometer. The column is visible by slightly tilting the thermometer on the corner and holding it parallel to the ground.
Oral measurement: Put the thermometer tip under the patient's language, right or left. Check that the patient keeps the mouth closed for about 4 minutes.
Axillary measurement: Clean the armpit with a dry cloth. Put the thermometer tip under the patient's armpit and hold the patient's arm firmly to his body for about four minutes.
Cleaning and disinfection
Clean the thermometer by passing it with a dry cloth and disinfect the tip with ethanol (ethyl alcohol) or with a specific disinfectant solution. Alternatively it is possible to wash it with cold water and soap.
The clinical thermometer glass casing allows you to disinfect and clean the thermometer repeatedly and unlimited.
WARNING: Do not boost and generally use hot water to clean and disinfect the thermometer.
Warnings
Do not perform oral measurement with children under the age of 10. Prefer the axillary measurement in the case of very small children. The oral measurement mode requires that during temperature detection the patient does not chew, do not speak and do not move. This thermometer was not designed for specific temperature measurements.
In case of breaking the thermometer and leakage of the liquid, use a cloth cloth or a similar absorbent material suitable with water or soap to clean the affected area. The fragments of the thermometer and the thermometric liquid collected can be disposed of as normal domestic waste as they are not toxic. It is recommended to prevent the thermometric liquid from coming into contact with other precious, noble or common metals.
Do not bite, bend or exert high pressure on the thermometer, as this may cause it to break it. Avoid the risk of falls and violent bumps and make sure you store the thermometer in a safe place. Keep the thermometer out of the reach of children. The temperature measurement of newborns and children must be carried out under the supervision of an adult. Do not use the thermometer if you notice defects or cracks.
