Nutilis
Powder
Description Dust thickener for food products (liquids and semiliquids).
It has a patented formula resistant to amilasi (Nutilis "blocks" the action of amilasi avoiding that food becomes too liquid and therefore dangerous to swallow for the patient).
The mixture does not change consistency allowing the patient to swallow safely.
Neutral taste, does not alter the flavor of the food to which it is added.
Gluten free.
Indications
Food intended for special medical purposes, indicated for patients with swallowing problems (disfagia).
To be used as a thickener of liquids, semi-liquids or smoothed meals.

Mode of use
Guide to preparation:
Option 1: with the shaker
1. Pour the drink into the shaker.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Screw the cover well and stir vigorously until the powder completely dissolves (about 5-10 seconds).
4. Mix the drink slowly for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. Allow to rest for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired density.
Option 2: with a fork or a small whip in the shaker or in a high container
1. Pour the drink in the shaker or in a high container.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Mix vigorously until the powder dissolves completely.
4. Mix plan for 1 or 2 minutes.
5. Allow to rest for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired density.
Option 3: with a fork or a small whip in a cup
1. Pour half the drink into a cup.
2. Add the recommended amount of Nutilis.
3. Mix until the powder is moistened and takes on a homogeneous consistency.
4. Add the remaining liquid into the cup.
5. Mix the drink for about 1-2 minutes until you get a thickened mixture.
Allow to rest for a few minutes while the drink reaches the desired density.
Important: Do not add additional amounts of Nutilis during the resting phase because the liquid will continue to thicken.
Add a further amount of Nutilis to the thickened drinks: after the drink has been thickened with Nutilis it is possible to add an additional amount of Nutilis Powder to increase the density of the fluid.
To obtain a better result and a homogeneous consistency it is recommended to follow the indications below.
For an optimal result use a shaker.
1. Add about half a scoop to the thickened liquid.
2. Screw the lid.
3. Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds.
4. Unscrew the cover and stir slowly with a fork for a few seconds.
5. Evaluate the consistency.
6. If you want to increase the consistency, repeat the instructions from 1 to 5 by adding at most 1 scoop at a time.
Hot drinks (temperature > 60°C): at the end of the preparation let the liquid rest a few minutes to reach the desired density.
For an optimal result and for your safety, it is recommended to let the hot drinks cool a little before thickening them.
If necessary or if liked, it is possible to heat the drinks in the microwave after adding Nutilis.

Note: If you want to heat a thickened hot drink, make sure to heat it immediately after thickening it. Drinks containing milk should be consumed within 2 hours to avoid deterioration.

For an optimal result, before adding Nutilis Powder mix the soda to remove the bubbles and most of the foam
