Immune defences - Redox immune system drops 15ml
REDOX
drops
Description
Food supplement of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) the first line of defense of the organism against free radicals and ensures protection from oxidizing agents that are toxic to the cell. Its central role for the proper functioning of the immune system is widely recognized. Its numerous functions can be traced back to the ability to oxidize and shrink reversibly (oxide-reduction or redox reaction):
- regenerates the anti-radical activity of vitamin E in tissues;
- promotes the reduction of folic acid in its coenzymatic forms;
- promotes the intestinal absorption of iron by reduction from Fe3+ to Fe2+.
Ascorbic acid is the fundamental cofactor of enzymes that catalyze proline and lysine hydroxylation reactions for the formation of collagen, the main protein of connective tissue. The deficiency of vitamin C can cause alterations in the wall of blood vessels with appearance of hemorrhages.
