Very high doses of Vitamin A in animals are teratogenic and have been associated in isolated cases with male malformations. Keep out of reach of children. In order to avoid the appearance of signs and symptoms of hyperdosage use the product under medical control and for the period of time considered strictly necessary. The preparations containing vitamin E must be used carefully in diabetics and in subjects with heart failure since this vitamin can reduce insulin and digital requirements.Interactions
Vitamin E can enhance the action of digital or insulin.Effects
The product used at recommended doses is generally well tolerated; signs and symptoms of hypervitaminosis A (anorexia, hepatosplenomegalia, turbe cutanee, etc.).Overdosing
No hyperdose cases have been described by Tocalfa. Acute hyperdose cases have been described in children (cephalia, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, irritability, itching); syntomatology regress within 72 hours of intake. In adult it is extremely unlikely that single, even high doses can determine hypervitaminosis A. Prolonged administration of excessive doses of vitamin A determines the occurrence of toxic manifestations from hypervitamins To both children (hyperostosis, alopecia, nausea, vomiting) and adults (astenia, anorexia, skin dequamation, bone and joint pain). The suspension of administration is sufficient to stop the evolution of symptomatology, which however regresses more or less slowly depending on the symptoms.Daily amounts of vitamin A higher than 10,000 U.I. should be avoided in pregnancy (especially in the first months) and you should consult your doctor for advice about the total amount of vitamin A taken through the different sources. The product, containing vitamin A at high doses, should not therefore be used during pregnancy.
