Description
Medical device for symptomatic treatment of constipation and for softening feces.
The main component of DulcoSoft is the 4,000 macrogol, a laxative with osmotic action.
The 4,000 macrogol has a high capacity to retain water. It acts as a water carrier and delays its intestinal absorption, resulting in an increase in the amount in the colon. Softens feces and increases their volume. This leads to accelerate intestinal transit and make evacuation easier, giving a natural and delicate feeling of relief from constipation and irregularity.
Macrogol 4,000 has a purely physical mode of action: it is practically not absorbed by the body and is excreted unaltered.
Components
Macrogol 4000, potassium sorbate (conservant), citric acid, purified water.
No aroma, sugar, lactose and gluten.
Mode of use
Dilute with a drink to taste (about 150 ml).
Adults and children over 8 years: 20-40 ml of solution per day, (equal to 10-20 g of macrogol 4,000) to be taken preferably in one administration in the morning.
Children between 4-7 years: 16-32 ml of solution per day (equal to 8-16 g of macrogol 4.000), to be taken preferably in one administration in the morning.
Children between 2-3 years: 8-16 ml of solution per day (equal to 4-8 g of macrogol 4.000), to be taken preferably in one administration in the morning.
Children between 6 months and 1 year: 8 ml of solution per day (equal to 4 g of macrogol 4.000), to be taken preferably in one administration in the morning.
Use in children under 12 years should take place preferably under medical control.
Measure the dose using the dosing cup included in the package. The dose can be adapted to individual needs, without exceeding the recommended maximum dose: may vary from one intake per day to one intake every two days.
The appropriate dose is sufficient to produce the regular evacuation of soft feces. The recommended daily dose should be taken preferably in one administration in the morning.
The effectiveness of the product is manifested between 24 and 72 hours from intake.
Do not hire for more than 7 days.
Warnings
Do not hire in case of:
- hypersensitivity to macrogol 4,000 or any of the other components;
- severe intestinal inflammatory diseases (such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) or toxic megacolons;
- gastrointestinal drilling or gastrointestinal drilling risk;
- paralytic ileum or suspect of intestinal obstruction or symptomatic stenosis;
- painful abdominal syndromes of which the cause was not established.
If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking DulcoSoft.
DulcoSoft should not be taken daily for prolonged periods of time without investigating the cause of constipation.
In case of diarrhea, care should be taken in patients with water or electrolytic imbalances (e.g. elderly, patients with impairment of liver or kidney function or patients in treatment with diuretics) and electrolytes should be taken into account.
If you are pregnant and breastfeeding, consult your doctor first.
Do not use on children under 6 months.
The 4,000 macrogol increases osmotic pressure in the intestine and can therefore change the intestinal absorption of other products taken simultaneously. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other product.
Excessive doses of DulcoFosft can cause diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal distension and vomiting, which resolve when you stop treatment or reduce your dose.
Keep away from the sight and reach of children.
Conservation
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Do not store in the refrigerator.
Do not use after the expiry date.
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Valid after the first opening: six weeks.
