autotest HIV
Description
Screening exam for HIV (the AIDS-responsible virus) that is performed on a blood withdrawal from the finger finger finger.
It is a reliable autotest for the diagnosis of HIV infections occurred at least three months before.
Autotest VIH is a disposable diagnostic in vitro.
Autotest VIH can be performed by unexperienced people in a private environment.
The test takes about 5 minutes and the waiting time before reading the result is 15 minutes.
It is necessary to have a clock or other time measuring device.
Mode of use
1. Support the test tube on a flat surface. Gently pull the plug containing the buffer solution to separate it from the autotest. Slide it with a finger at the bottom of the test tube.
2. Wash your hands, preferably with hot water and ascigarle. Open the bags containing disinfectant wipe and sterile gauze. Rub the disinfectant wipe on the tip of your finger and wait for it to dry. Remove the cap from the safety scalpel. Support the red end of the scalpel on the fingertips and push it slowly down to pierce the skin with the needle.
Gently tighten the finger to form a first big drop of blood. Remove the drop with the sterile gauze. Without pressing too much, gently tighten your finger once again to form another big drop of blood. With the autotest directed down, touch the drop of blood with the tip of the device until the tip end is filled with blood.
3. Make sure that the test tube holder with the buffer solution is placed on a flat surface. Holding the autotest with the tip down, firmly in the test tube support so as to pierce the aluminum membrane of the buffer solution stopper.
Push down decisively (you will feel taking 3 times). Verify the appearance of a pink spot that should begin to be visible in less than a minute after the test device and the plug with the buffer solution were inserted into each other. Apply the patch to the finger.
4. Check the time and wait 15 minutes before reading the result.
Autotest non reactive: appearance of a row: control line (HIV negative).
Reactive autotest: appearance of two lines: control line and test line (probably positive HIV).
If positive:
- contact a doctor as soon as possible and inform him that he has just performed an autotest for HIV and that the result was positive;
- the result of the autotest must be confirmed by an examination carried out at an analysis laboratory;
- protect yourself and protect others.
Warnings
If it is believed that exposure to HIV may have occurred in the last 3 months, the negativity of the test is not certain at this time. Avoid any activity that can cause HIV transmission to others. Use condom to protect yourself and your partners. It will be necessary to repeat the autotest once spent 3 months of time from the most recent risk of exposure to HIV.
- Autotest is intended for strictly private use as an autotest for HIV and should not be used for other diagnosis or other purposes under any circumstances.
- The autotest must be used only with a sample of capillary blood just picked up according to the instructions contained in this document. Do not use for serum or plasma samples.
- Autotest is a disposable device. Don't reuse.
- Do not open the aluminum bag containing the autotest until the test is performed.
- This autotest should not be used as part of the follow-up of patients in antiretroviral therapy.
- Those who use this autotest should consult their physician before taking any therapeutic decision, regardless of having obtained a positive or negative result.
- Fake positive results (0.2% in test specificity studies) or false negatives may be due to the following circumstances: hIV exposure in the three months prior to testing (period window), advanced immunodeficiency situations or infection by a rare variant or execution on seropositive subjects in antiretroviral therapy.
- The result of the test may also be wrong because of the non-preservation of the product according to the indications or lack of compliance with the limitations of use.
- Do not use the autotest if the aluminum box or bag has been opened or damaged.
- Do not use the autotest if the expiration date indicated on the package has been exceeded.
- In case of difficulty in understanding the explanations on the packaging or instructions for use, please contact Mylan immediately at: +39 02 61246462.
- Keep the autotest and all the contents of the package out of the reach of children. The components of the VIH autotest can be dangerous if ingested and can cause irritation.
- Autotest VIH offers an additional test mode for HIV that can be used as a complement to other existing options. Autotest VIH is able to diagnose only HIV infection and cannot be used as tests of other sexually transmitted diseases.
- AAZ-LMB expressly disclaims any liability regarding the use or distribution of VIH or any of its components, which took place without the strict observance of the instructions and limits specified in the instructions for use.
Conservation
Store the autotest in the original packaging in a cool and dry environment and at a temperature between 8°C and 30°C. Keep away from sunlight.
