Mineral salt Mag 2 os soluz 20bust1.5g/10ml
MAG2
active ingredients
An oral solution bottle contains: active ingredient: magnesium pidolato 1,500 g (corresponding to 122 mg of ion Mg+ +). Excipients with known effects: sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium, propile parahydroxybenzoate sodium. An oral solution monodose bag contains:active ingredient: magnesium pidolato 1,500 g (corresponding to 122 mg of ion Mg+ +). Excipients with known effects: sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate sodium, propile parahydroxybenzoate sodium. An oral powder bag contains: active ingredient: magnesium pidolato 2,250 g (corresponding to 184 mg of ion Mg+ +). Excipients with known effects: sucrose. For the full list of excipients, see paragraph 6.1.Excellent
MAG2 1.5 g/10 ml oral solution Sucrose, orange aroma, sodium parahydroxybenzoate, propile parahydroxybenzoate sodium, purified water. MAG2 2,25 g oral solution powder Sodium saccharin, monohydrate citric acid, sucrose, lemon aroma.Therapeutic indications
Magnesium deficiency states.Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any of the excipients listed in paragraph 6.1. Severe kidney failure (cancer of creatine less than 30 mL/min). Not to be administered in subjects subjected to digital therapy.Population
Population Only for adults: 3 bottles or 3 single-dose bag of solution or 2 sachets of powder per day. Pediatric population In children, posology may be established by the doctor after consultation. Caution: use only for short periods of treatment. Instructions for use MAG2 1.5 g/10 ml oral solution: It is appropriate to shake before use. To open the bottle turn the top and detach it. Take the content of the bottle as such or dilute it in water. MAG2 2,25 g oral solution powder: Dissolve the contents of a bag in the water.Conservation
Oral Solution: Store at a temperature below 25°C. Powder for oral solution: this medicine does not require any special condition for conservation.Warnings
In case of concomitant calcium deficiency, magnesium deficiency must be corrected before administering additional calcium. In patients with moderate kidney failure, it is necessary to reduce posology and monitor kidney function and magnesemia, due to the risk associated with hypermagnesemia. It is appropriate to consider the possibility that in course of treatment there is depression of cardiovascular activity. Each bottle of MAG2 solution contains 3.5 g sucrose. Each MAG2 solution bag contains 3.5 g sucrose. Each bag of MAG2 powder contains 2,985 g sucrose. If taken in accordance with the recommended dose, the daily intake of sucrose corresponds to 10,5 g for bottle and single-dose bag solution and 5,97 g for dust bags. Patients with rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucose-galactosis mal absorption, or sucrasis-isomaltase deficiency, should not take this medicine. MAG2 oral solution contains parahydroxybenzoates (sodium parahydroxybenzoate and sodium parahydroxybenzoate propile): it can cause allergic reactions (also delayed). MAG2 bottles, single-dose bag of solution and powder for oral solution contain less than 1 mmol (23 mg) of sodium for bottle or bag, i.e. they are essentially “without sodium”.Interactions
In case of oral tetracycline treatment, the administration of MAG2 must be delayed by at least 3 hours. Chinolones should be administered at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after the administration of magnesium-based products to avoid interference with their absorption. Concurrent administration of magnesium and cholecalciferol products (vitamin D3) may lead to the appearance of hypercalcemia. We do not recommend the concomitant use of preparations containing calcium salts or phosphate since such products prevent intestinal absorption of magnesium. The simultaneous intake of magnesium-based products with depressing drugs the Central Nervous System can enhance the effects on the magnesium SNC and should be carefully evaluated.Effects
The following Convention has been used for the classification of unwanted effects: very common ≥ 1/10; common ≥ 1/100 and gastrointestinal disease. Frequency not known: gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea, abdominal pain. Pathologies of skin and subcutaneous tissue. Frequency not known: skin reactions. Immune disorders. Frequency not known: hypersensitivity. Exceptional cases of individual intolerance to magnesium have been reported, which can be treated with oral or parental antihistamines. Reporting of suspicious adverse reactions The reporting of suspicious adverse reactions that occur after the authorization of the medicinal product is important, as it allows continuous monitoring of the benefit/risk ratio of the medicinal product. Healthcare workers are required to report any suspected adverse reaction via the national reporting system at the address https://www.aifa.gov.it/web/guest/content/segnalazioni-reazioni-avverse.Overdosing
Signs and symptoms Overdose of oral magnesium does not generally induce toxic reactions in the presence of normal kidney function. Magnesium poisoning can however develop in case of severe kidney failure. The toxic effect depends mainly on the serum levels of magnesium and the signs are as follows: decrease in blood pressure, nausea, vomiting, depression of the Central Nervous System, decrease in reflections, abnormalities in the ECG (e.g. heart rhythm disorders), occurrence of respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest, respiratory paralysis, anurian syndrome and neuromuscular transmission disorders. Therapy Treatment should include rehydration with restoration of a plentiful diuresis or forced diuresis. In the presence of kidney failure, hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis is necessary.Limited data are available on the use of MAG2 in pregnant women. However, it is not possible to draw conclusions that the use of MAG2 is safe during pregnancy. MAG2 can only be used during pregnancy if potential benefits for the mother exceed potential risks, including those for the fetus. Magnesium is considered compatible with breastfeeding.
