Gravidan
Description
Food supplement based on omega 3 (DHA), folic acid, vitamins and minerals.
The period of pregnancy and breastfeeding are particularly critical from the food-diet point of view, as the diet affects the health of both the mother and the child. In order to optimize the health of a pregnant woman and to reduce the risk of malformations or diseases of the unborn child, it is essential that the mother reaches an optimal nutritional status before, during and after the gestational period, which must foresee both breastfeeding, in which food demands are higher than the period of pregnancy, than a phase of recovery (Picciano MF, J nutr. 2003; 133 1997s). Women should always maintain, but with greater attention from conception to breastfeeding, a diet able to meet nutritional needs as defined by international LARN and VNR guidelines.
Role and effects of the main components of Gravidan:
Folic acid contributes to the growth of maternal tissues in pregnancy and supports normal hemopoiesi, iron promotes normal formation of red blood cells and hemoglobin, vitamin B1 contributes to normal energy metabolism, while vitamins B2, B6, and B12 contribute to normal formation of red blood cells. Supplementary intake of folic acid increases the state of the maternal folate. A low state of the maternal folate is a risk factor for the development of neural tube defects in the fetus. The target population consists of women in fertile age and the beneficial effect is obtained with a daily supplemental intake of folic acid of 400 mcg for at least one month before and up to three months after conception. DHA's breast contribution contributes to normal brain development and view of fetus and breast-fed children.
