Description
Absorbent polyurethane foam medicine with edge for the sacral area. Mepilex Border Sacrum can help prevent pressure lesions from the sacred region, used in addition to standard prevention protocols. It is suitable for the management of a wide range of newly exploding wounds, such as:
-ulcere by pressure;
-traumatic wounds (e.g. skin lacerations and wounds that heal for second intention).
The unique 5-layer structure of Mepilex Border Sacrum allows to redistribute and dissipate the forces responsible for the formation of pressure lesions or friction, cutting, and pressure thanks to the ability of the various layers to flow on each other and to deform.
The action of Mepilex Border Sacrum determines a control of exudates and the maintenance of the humid environment ideal for wound healing:
-about the exudates vertically.
-thanks to the Safeatc technology contact layer, minimizes the trauma from removal, protects the perilesional skin, thus preventing maceration.
-can also be used in combination with gel.
-can be kept in situ during hyperbarian oxygen therapy.
Benefits of product:
-Form of dressing specifically designed to improve coverage and protection of anatomical regions at high risk.
-Good adherence to the buttocks area to increase the protection of the sacred area.
-Thicker pipes to allow a more effective positioning and prevent the rounding.

Composition
1)External coat in water vapor permeable polyurethane and waterproof to liquids and bacteria.
2)Low-absorbing polyurethane foam for vertical absorption.
3)Nonwoven fabric strip.
4)Excessive polyacrylate fibres.
5)Contact layer with soft silicone wound (Safetac Technology).
Mode of use
Clean the area to protect or wound depending on its use in prevention or treatment. Let the skin dry. Open the package and remove the protection card. The correct removal of the film allows a sterile application. Apply the "Safetac" side of the dressing on the wound. Don't wear dressing. In treatment: to obtain the best results, the absorbent pad of Mepilex Border Sacrum must cover the wound and have a margin of about 2 cm beyond the wound. If it is necessary to further ensure the dressing, fix only the edges of the product. During removal, gently lift one side and slowly remove the dressing.
Warnings
For external use.
In case of infected wounds it is recommended to use under medical control.
In case of sensitization of the treated area or clinical signs of infection, consult the healthcare staff.
Do not use Mepilex Border Sacrum along with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide (oxygenated water).
Do not use in patients sensitive to components. The product is generally well tolerated. No interaction detected with other substances.
Conservation
Store at room temperature protected from extreme conditions of moisture, dust, pollutants, etc.
Validity of whole packaging: three years.
