Description
Medical device containing magnesium peroxide as an active substance (not less than 25% of MgO)2) developing oxygen in the gastrointestinal channel. This development of oxygen is accompanied by a considerable reduction of intestinal germs which are present in high number in acute and chronic intestinal pathologies (disbiosis).
Ozovit MP is therefore used in cases of gastrointestinal disorders caused by abnormal fermentation and rot. Ozovit MP was effective as a preliminary disinfectant agent of the intestinal tract in case of dysbiosis. In intestinal mycosis, a specific antifungal treatment should precede the use of Ozovit MP, since the activity on mushrooms and protozoa has been citostatic.
Ozovit is laxative saline to osmotic action. Since the absorption of magnesium peroxide is difficult, it results in water retention and an increase in water in the intestinal lumen. The intestinal content becomes more voluminous, resulting in increased peristalsis.
Ozovit MP is indicated in episodes of occasional constipation and as an intestinal evacuant before diagnostic examinations or particular therapeutic treatments.
Composition
100 g contain: 100 g magnesium peroxide.
Mode of use
Adults: from 1 to 3 scoops of powder in water or juice, 2 times a day 1 hour after meals.
In case of severe diarrhea, reduce the dosage or suspend the treatment for 2-3 days. Then resume administration with lower dosage.
Warnings
Ozovit MP should not be used for more than a week.
Do not take in case of kidney failure and intestinal occlusion (ileo). Do not take in case of hypersensitivity known to magnesium peroxide. Do not administer to children and adolescents. In rare cases, severe diarrhea side effects with intestinal cramps and electrolyte loss may occur. You can avoid reducing the dosage.
Interactions with other medicines: in general, a 1-2 hours interval between the administration of Ozovit MP and the following substances must be observed: iron, tetracycline, sodium fluoride, isoniazide, chloropromazine and digoxin.
As with other laxatives, prolonged intake of Ozovit MP can cause loss of water, potassium and other salts, resulting in heart and myasthenia function disorders. For this reason, the duration of administration must be limited to one week.
