Descrizione Clinica
Diabetes and Glycemia - Pic glucometer glucotest devices
Pic Glucotest
Description
Complete kit for measuring blood sugar.
The glucose contained in the blood sample reacts with the reagent placed on the reactive strip giving rise to a light electrical current. The amount of current created depends on the amount of glucose in the blood.
The Pic GlucoTest glucometer measures the current created and converts the measurement into the blood glucose concentration. The result of blood sugar is displayed on the LCD display of the glucometer.
The gold electrode on the strip guarantees high accuracy and precision.

Mode of use
To achieve accurate results, allow the glucometer to acclimatize to the surrounding environment (temperature between 10 °C and 45 °C).
If the ambient temperature is higher or lower than the correct range on the display, a thermometer icon will be displayed. Move to an area where the temperature is between 10 °C and 45 °C, wait 30 minutes and run a test. Do not artificially heat or cool the glucometer.
Extract a new reactive strip from the container and close it hermetically.
The glucometer is lit according to one of the following two methods: ON/ button pressure/OFF and/or insertion of the reactive strip into the crack in the off state.
When the blood drop symbol flashes (Blood Stand-by screen), the glucometer is ready for testing.
Approach the finger at the end of the strip until the golden window of the strip is completely filled with blood The blood will be automatically sucked into the strip.
If the sound signal is active, the glucometer will emit a signal to warn that the measurement is beginning. After applying blood on the strip, the countdown from 5 to 1 seconds will appear on the display. After 5 seconds the result will be displayed on the display The result of blood sugar is displayed in mg/dL or mmol/L.
To achieve precise results between sample picking and measurement should not spend more than 20 seconds (the sample evaporation can cause a test result higher than the actual value). The volume of the blood sample must be at least 0.3 mcL.
The glucometer records in memory the results of measurements with the date of execution.
If the test result is less than 70 mg/dL or the indication "LO" appears, it can mean hypoglycemia. This condition may require immediate intervention based on the recommendations of your physician. Although this result may be due to an unlikely error of analysis, it is preferable to intervene immediately and then repeat the test.
If the test result is more than 180 mg/dL and the indication "HI" appears, it can mean hyperglycemia. In the absence of symptoms, repeat the test. If results are still higher than 180 mg/dl and in the presence of symptoms, please contact your doctor for instructions on the actions to be taken.
Cleaning of the glucometer:
Avoid dust. If you need to clean the glucometer, carefully follow the following guidelines.
To avoid a malfunction of the glucometer, avoid penetration of blood, moisture, dirt or dust in the slit of the strip.
To clean the glucometer use a cloth that does not leave moistened hair with water. Carefully squeeze the cloth before use. Do not use abrasive cloth or antiseptic solution as it may damage the display.
Conservation
Place the glucometer, the reactive strips, the control solution, the control strip, the stinged device, the hands, and the manuals within the specific case.
Store reactive strips at an ambient temperature between 2 °C and 32 °C. Do not refrigerate or freeze.
Frozen and thawed reagents can produce incorrect blood sugar results.
Protect from dust the crack for reactive strips.
Do not expose the reactive strips to moisture and direct sunlight and store them in a cool and dry place. Close the container well after picking up a reactive strip. The reactive strip container is able to preserve the correct moisture, so do not transfer the reactive strips into any other container.
Store the Pic Control Solution at a temperature between 8 °C and 30 °C .
