Description
Revamil Melginate is a medication indicated for exudatory wounds.
It consists of natural fibers of calcium alginate (100%) in combination with Revamil honey rich in enzymes.
Alginate fibres form a nonwoven fabric reinforced by a special process of sharpening.
Alginate sheet is impregnated in the middle part with 7 g honey for 100 cm2.
Revamil Melginate is packaged in a protective and sealed blister inside a sterile case.
The final product is sterilized with gamma rays.
Revamil Melginate, applied on exudatory lesions, absorbs the fluid by freezing quickly.
The sharpening process assures Revamil Melginate an excellent fluid resistance by facilitating the complete removal of the bandage without leaving residues on the wound.
The gel formed by the alginate in combination with Revamil honey (thanks to the low pH) has a strong antibacterial action and maintains the environment of the wet wound.
Thanks to the absorption of fluids the perilesional skin is protected by maceration.
This allows a fluid absorption of 12 g per 100 cm2, respecting absorption requirements as defined by the British Pharmacopoeia.
Indications
Revamil Melginate is indicated for the management of various types of exudatory wounds also infected (surgical, traumatic, oncological, vascular lesions, diabetic foot, injuries induced by radiotherapy, minor burns 1 and 2 degrees, injuries from decubitate).
Mode of use
Wash the lesion with physiological solution and apply Revamil Melginate, trying to enclose it as much as possible within the edges of the lesion.
Revamil Melginate must be replaced with its complete gelification (the product mixes with the exudate and changes its consistency); replace Revamil Melginate every 48/72 hours; when the product does not gel more completely within 48/72 hours you can continue dressing with "Revamil gel" or "Revamil wound dressing".
