Biatain Alginate can be used on all moderately to highly exudatory lesions, including lower limb ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, skin picking sites and traumatic lesions. Biatain Alginate should not be used on dry injuries or to control an intense bleeding. Biatain Alginate is a highly absorbent alginate dressing for moderately to highly exudatory injuries of any size, shape and depth. Biatain Alginate has superior absorption compared to other medicines in alginate and hydrofibre.

Ideal for filling cavitary lesions
The design and structural integrity of the dressing allow to cut and adapt it to injuries of any size, shape or depth. The dressing conforms to the bed of the injury, satisfying an important aspect for the healing process.

Integrity of removal dressing
The exclusive integrity of the dressing allows removal in one piece.

Minimizes the risk of loss and maceration
The Biatain Alginate Superior Absorption blocks the exudate inside the dressing, avoiding losses that can damage the surrounding skin.

Documented hemostatic effect
Unlike hydrofibre medications, alginate medicines have a haemostatic effect, i.e. the ability to stop blood flow in cases of small bleeding, thanks to the release of calcium ions from the dressing.

Mode of action
In contact with the exodus of the lesion, Biatain Alginate is transformed into a soft cohesive gel that creates the optimal humid environment for healing.

Composition
Biatain Alginate is an alginate dressing consisting of 85% calcium alginate and 15% carbossimetilcellulose (CMC).
