Description
Laxative for the treatment of occasional stypsis in adult and child, useful for softening the fecal mass and favoring the flow along the bowels, in particular in case of diverticulum. Recommended to avoid efforts during defecation, in cases such as: hernia, hypertension, ano-rectal vascular disorders, in the presence of hemorrhoids or abdominal, intestinal or rectal surgery.
Components
Vaseline oil, olive oil, almond oil in equal parts.
Mode of use
- From 6 to 11 years: 2-3 teaspoons per day, in one administration.
- From 12 years on: 2-3 tablespoons per day, in one administration. Take the product during or after meals, preferably in the evening, at least an hour before sleep. Shake the bottle before use.
Warnings
Do not use in case of concurrent intake of other laxatives or softeners of the feces. Products with laxative effect must be used as frequently as possible and for no more than seven days. A fluid-rich diet promotes the effect of the product. Do not use the product in case of damaged packaging or after the expiry shown on the packaging. Do not use in children under 3 years of age due to the risk of lipoid pneumonia. Keep away from the reach of children. Possible side effects: disorders of metabolism and nutrition. The liquid paraffin can interfere with the absorption of lipo-nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, K especially after prolonged use of the product. It can cause isolated cramps or abdominal colics, more frequent in case of severe constipation. It can give stillicide (loss, dripping) paraffin rectal with consequent anal irritation and itching, rectal bleeding following prolonged use. It can cause lipoid pneumonia and oleous embolism, due to accidental inhalation of the product.
Overdosage and abuse: the abuse of laxatives, frequent/ prolonged use or in excessive doses, causes abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea resulting in water loss, mineral salts (potassium in particular) and other nutrient factors. Liquid and electrolyte losses must be replaced. Electrolytic imbalances give symptoms such as thirst, vomiting, weakening, edema, bone pain, (osteomalacia) and hypoalbuminemia. In serious cases, dehydration or hypopotassemia may arise, possibly due to cardiac or neuromuscular dysfunctions, especially in case of concomitant therapy with cardiac glycosides, diuretics or corticosteroids. If episodes of constipation occur repeatedly the doctor must be consulted.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to one of the components; nausea, vomiting, acute or unknown abdominal pain; obstruction or intestinal stenosis; gastrointestinal disorders such as appendicitis, ulcerative colitis, straight bleeding of unknown origin; acute hemorrhoid crisis with pain and bleeding; severe dehydration; subject with difficulty in ingesting or presenting pathologies (e.g. iatal hernia) or conditions (e.g. debilitated persons forced into bed) which involve the risk of regurgitation; colostomy/leostomy.
Conservation
Store the bottle well closed and sheltered from light. The expiry date refers to the correctly stored product, in a package.
