SCREEN TEST VETERINARY
ScreenVet Infection Urinary Tract
Quick Test Urinary Infection Cat Dog (Urina)
Description
Test for quick detection of multiple analytics in animal urine.
The test is for the qualitative and semi-quantitative identification of one or more of the following analytics in the urine: ascorbic acid, glucose, bilirubin, ketone (acetoacetic acid), specific gravity, blood, pH, protein, urobilinogen, nitrite and leukocytes.
The Urinalysis (urine) reactive strips are disposable.
Just for veterinary use.
Mode of use
The urine sample should be collected in a dry and clean container and tested as soon as possible. Don't centrifuge. The use of urine preservatives is not recommended. If the test cannot be carried out within an hour of harvesting, refrigerate the sample immediately and return it to ambient temperature before testing. Prolonged preservation of unpreserved urine at room temperature can result in bacterial proliferation with changes in pH. An alkaline pH switch can cause false positive results in the protein test area.
Bring the strip, urine sample and/or ambient temperature controls (15-30 °C) before testing.
Remove the strip from the closed box and use it as soon as possible. Close the box immediately after extracting the necessary number of strips.
Dip completely the reactive areas of the strip into the fresh urine and carefully mixed and remove the strip immediately to avoid dissolution of the reagents. In removing the strip from urine, pass the strip margin against the edge of the urine container to remove excess liquid.
Keep the strip in a horizontal position and bring the margin in contact with absorbent material (e.g. a sheet of kitchen paper) to prevent the chemicals of adjacent reactive areas mix and/or get dirty hands with urine.
Compare reactive areas with its color blocks on the packaging label according to the specified times. Keep the strip close to the color blocks and compare it carefully.
The results can be read up to 2 minutes beyond the specified time. The results can also be read using the Urina Analyzer.
The results are obtained by direct comparison with the color blocks printed on the packaging.
Color blocks represent nominal values; real values vary in a similar way to nominal values.
In case of unexpected results or doubts, the following steps are recommended: make sure the strips have been used within the printed expiration date on the package, compare the results with positive and negative controls and repeat the test using a new strip. If the problem persists, stop using the strip immediately and contact the local distributor.
Warnings
Only for in vitro diagnostic use. Do not use beyond the expiry date.
The strip will have to remain closed in the package until use.
Do not touch the reaction areas of the strip.
Throw all the discolored strips that may have deteriorated.
All samples must be considered potentially dangerous and manipulated as infectious agents.
The strip used must be thrown according to local regulations after use.
Conservation
Store at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30 °C). Keep away from the direct sunlight. Don't freeze.
Validity of whole packaging: 24 months.
Post-opening validation: three months.
Format
The kit contains:
- 5 test strips;
- leaflet.
