First aid Urgok2 latex free t1-10cm Urgo
UrgoK2
Description
UrgoK2 is a multi-component compressed bandage kit that combines two different types of bandages: a short-range inner bandage and a long-lasting external bandage.
The association of these two synergistic and complementary bandages guarantees effective, continuous and reliable compressed therapy.
Both kit bandages are equipped with a technology called PresSure System that guarantees the application of the therapeutic pressure required (40 mmHg to the ankle) from the first application, keeping it up to 7 days.
This system consists of ovals printed on the back of the two bandages that become circular when achieving the correct therapeutic compression.
These pressure indicators are also arranged in such a way as to guide the operator's hand in a correct overlap of the bandages, ensuring the right number of coils to package a therapeutic bandage that guarantees the right pressure.
- The white bandage (KTECH), of short stretchability, guarantees compression, protection and absorption. This generates high pressure in activity and low pressure at rest. Given its peculiar composition and regular weaving, the bandage ensures maximum comfort for the patient and a good degree of absorption of exudates in the presence of venous ulcers avoiding creating folds during the application.
- The second pink/beige (KPRESS), cohesive, external to the first provides the additional pressure necessary to reach the therapeutic pressure of 40mmHg in the ankle. This bandage completes the system and helps keep the bandage in situ without tightening or creating folds and resting ensures a maintenance pressure that helps the venous return even during the non-activity phase of the patient.
UrgoK2 is indicated for the treatment of the venous lesions of the lower limbs, venous edema or lymphedema that require a strong compression.
Disposable, not sterile.
Latex-free.
Technical characteristics
• KTECH
• KPRESS
Mode of use
FIRST APPLICATION:
- Examine the shape of the leg and identify any area at risk of excessive pressure (e.g. bone readiness).
- Protect and reshape the leg with the padding with ovate if necessary. If there is a injury, apply a proper dressing before bandages.
- Measure the circumference of the ankle and make sure you have chosen the correct kit (Ankle circumference 18-25 cm or 25-32 cm).
- It is preferable to apply UrgoK2 in the morning or after the patient held the leg raised for an hour to minimize any orthostatic edema.
MODE OF APPLICATION
Kit for an ankle of 18-25 cm of circumference - 50% overlap:
1. Place the foot in order to form an angle of 90° - fingers upwards.
2. Start applying KTECH to the root of your fingers by making two laps to fix the bandage, ensuring that the padded part is in contact with the skin and that the pressure indicator PresSure System is facing the leg.
3. Fix the heel using a figure of eight, ensuring total heel coverage.
4. Get KTECH to the leg starting from the malleol, pulling the bandage so that the pressure indicator (printed on the bandage) forms a circle reaching the therapeutic pressure. A correct overlap is applied when the pressure indicator is slightly covered (over 50%). Finish 2 cm below the poplite cable and remove any excess from the bandage. Fix it with tape.
5. Apply KPRESS over to KTECH using the same application technique as KTECH. For patient comfort, leave a small margin of KTECH to the toe and knee. Once applied, press gently on the bandage to ensure a total grip.
Kit for an ankle of 25-32 cm of circumference - overlap of 2/3:
Apply the 18-25 cm kit in the same way, covering the pressure indicator PresSure System which in this case is printed in the middle of the bandage (overlapping of 2/3).
Once the leg has been blindfolded, any bandage in addition must be interrupted and cut since an extra bandage would increase the pressure. Press gently to ensure a complete grip. UrgoK2 must be left in situ day and night until the subsequent replacement of the dressing according to the advice of the specialist.
Warnings
Check that ABC (Cash Pressure Index) is >0.8 before prescribing the bandage system.
In case of diabetes, cardiac arrest, advanced micro-vascular pathologies, use UrgoK2 under strict medical control following appropriate treatment.
In case of dermatitis, treat the infection before starting treatment with UrgoK2.
In case of a rare-born ulcer (vasculite, hemopathy, gangrene pyodermatitis) UrgoK2 should only be used according to the specialist’s opinion.
The effectiveness of UrgoK2 has been tested and validated for the application of KTECH along with KPRESS. The UrgoK2 PresSure System has been specially designed to facilitate application; it is important to carefully follow the instructions to reach the recommended therapeutic pressure.
In case of doubt consult the doctor.
Contraindicated use in case of:
• Arteriose conditions (ulcere arteriose or predominantly arteriose; note or suspect arterial disease).
• Caviglia-Braccio Pressure Index (ABPI) • Patients suffering from diabetic microangiopathy, ischemic flebite (phlegmatia coerulea dolens), septic thrombosis.
• Ulceration due to infection.
• Allergy to one or more of the components.
Conservation
Store at room temperature away from light and heat sources (Integro packaging Validity: 36 months.
