Description
Macrogol 4,000-based medical device indicated for the treatment of chronic constipation; treatment of fecaloma; treatment of stypsis with episodic or chronic colic.
Made of laxative action that, thanks to the osmotic mechanism, regulates the intestinal functions. It is not absorbed, nor ferments in the intestine, it does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the unmodified feces. Thanks in fact to its affinity for the water Macrostip sachets softens the feces facilitating evacuation. His action is not reduced over time.
Ingredients
A bag of 10 g powder contains Macrogol 4,000 10 g.
Without lactose, gluten, preservatives, aromas.
Mode of use
Adults, elders and children from 12 years: 1 whole bag (10 g) 1-3 times a day. Open the sachet along the dotted line and dilute the content in 125 ml (about 1 glass of non-gased water). In case of prolonged use, the dose can be reduced to 1-2 sachets per day.
Children from 7 to 11 years: half bag (5 g) twice a day. Dilute the content in 62.5 ml (approximately half glass of water not gassed).
Children from 3 to 6 years: half bag (5 g) once a day. Dilute the content in 62.5 ml (approximately half glass of water not gassed).
Dissolve the content in a glass of water (125 ml). Drink the solution so reconstituted. You can split the daily dose into multiple administrations. It is recommended to take Macrostip sachets away from meals.
Warnings
Do not take in case of hypersensitivity known to raw materials, perforation and/or gastrointestinal obstruction, gastric or intestinal lesions known, serious inflammatory pathologies of the gastrointestinal tract as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolons.
It is appropriate that the intake of the product be at least 2 hours away from that of drugs administered by mouth since the osmotic power of the macrogol and the increase in the rate of gastrointestinal transit induced may adversely affect their action. Consult the doctor before taking Macrostip envelopes in case of other therapies in place. Macrostip sachets can potentially interact if used with starch-based food thickeners. The macrogol ingredient contrasts the thickening effect of starch, thus liquefying the preparations that must remain dense for people with swallowing problems.
During its intake, undesirable effects such as mal digestion, stomach pain or brontoli, swelling, flatulence, nausea, vomiting, anal irritation and slight diarrhea may occur. These are effects that improve by reducing the dose. In case of allergic reactions, stop taking and contact your doctor. If any undesirable effect occurs, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.
Keep out of reach and sight of children. During pregnancy and breastfeeding consult your doctor before taking the product. Use in children under 12 years should take place preferably under medical control. Do not use Macrostip sachets for more than 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist to consult your doctor. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not use in case of damaged packaging. Treatment of the fecaloma requires the intervention of a preventive opinion of the doctor.
Conservation
Store the device well closed, in a cool and dry place, sheltered from light and heat.
