Reactive strips for measuring blood sugar to be used with Bayer Contour XT, Contour Next, Contour Next usb and Contour Next Link.
They use a small amount of blood (0.6 μL) which is automatically aspired by capillaries within the reactive ester of the strip: after a 5 seconds countdown, the glucose concentration in the blood sample appears automatically on the viewer. Glucose in the blood sample reacts with the FAD glucose dehydrogenase (FAD-GDH) and the mediator, generating a flow of electrons that produces a current proportional to the concentration of glucose in the sample. The stripes CONTOUR NEXT allow the determination of glucose both on whole capillary blood and on venous blood.
