Warnings
It is possible that individual ticks attack or that individual phlebotoms or mosquitoes puncture. For this reason, if the conditions are unfavorable, you cannot completely exclude a transmission of infectious diseases by these parasites. It is recommended to apply the treatment at least 3 days before the exposure to E. canis . As for E. canis, studies have shown a reduced risk of herlichiosis canine in dogs exposed to ticks Rhipicephalus sanguineus infected by E. canis from the 3 days following the application of the product and persistent for 4 weeks. Immediate protection against phlebotom bites is not documented. Dogs treated for the reduction of the risk of infection from Leishmania infantum through transmission from P. perniciosus phlebotoms must be kept in a protected environment during the first 24 hours after the application of the initial treatment. Special precautions for use in animals. (i) Special precautions for use in animals You should be careful to avoid the content of the pipette coming in contact with the eyes or mouth of the treated dogs. Be careful to administer the product properly as described in the paragraph 4.9. In particular, it must be prevented from oral intake due to the licking of the application site by animals treated or by animals in contact with them. Do not use on cats. This product is extremely toxic to cats and could be fatal because of the peculiar physiology of the cat that is unable to metabolize certain compounds, including permethrin. To prevent cats from accidentally exposed to the product, keep dogs treated away from cats, after treatment and until the application site dried. It is important to ensure that cats do not lick the site of application of a dog treated with this product. If this happens, contact a vet immediately. Consult your veterinarian before using the product on sick and debilitated dogs. (ii) Special precautions to be adopted by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals: avoid contact of the product with the skin, eyes or mouth. Do not eat, drink or smoke during the application. Wash your hands thoroughly after use. In case of accidental spill on the skin, wash immediately with soap and water. People with known skin sensitivity can be particularly sensitive to this product. The predominant clinical symptoms that in extremely rare cases can manifest are transient sensory irritations of the skin such as tingling, burning sensation or numbness. If the product accidentally ends in the eyes, these must be rinsed thoroughly with water. If the skin or eye irritation persists, contact a doctor immediately and show him the illustrative leaflet. Don't swallow. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a doctor immediately by showing him the leaflet or label. The treated dogs must not be handled, especially by children, until the application site has dried. This can be guaranteed for example by treating dogs in the evening. Dogs recently treated should not be allowed to sleep with the owners, especially with children. In order to prevent access to pipettes by children, keep pipettes in the original packaging until use and immediately dispose of the pipettes used. (iii) Other precautions: since the product is dangerous to aquatic organisms, under no circumstances should the treated dogs be allowed to enter any type of surface water for at least 48 hours after treatment. The solvent contained in Advantix Spot-on can spot some materials including leather, fabric, plastic and polished surfaces. Let the application site dry before allowing contact with such materials. No adverse clinical signs have been noted in healthy puppies or adult dogs, exposed to an overdose of 5 x , or in puppies whose mothers had been treated with an overdose of the product of 3 x. Incompatibility: no notes.
