INSTRUMENTS FOR USE
COMPOSITION
Palmitoilethanolamide (PEA), Hyaluronic Acid Sad salt (NaHA), Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA), Metil-B Cyclodextrin (MBCD), Potassium Citrate Monohydrate Tribasic, Sodium Chloride, Glycerol, Monohydrate Citric Acid, Phosphate Phosphate Bibasicphate.
CONFECT
DEFLUXA 15 single-dose containers of 0.4 m l of sterile eye drops, presented in box containing 3 strips of 5 m or knots, each strip inserted in aluminum envelope.
CHARACTERISTICS AND MECHANISM OF ACTION
DEFLUXA is a sterile ophthalmic solution, isotonic at physiological pH constituted by palmitoilethanolamide (molecola of Lipidic nature), by hydrophilic and moisturizing polymers (hyaluronic acid sadical salt, polyvinyl alcohol and cyclodextrin), by glycerol (molecola with moistening and osmoprotective action) and mineral salts.
DEFLUXA is able to rebalance The homeostasis of the eye surface and to reconstruct the lacrimal film in all cases of qualitative-quantitative alterations also resulting in chronic treatments with ocular drugs with hypotensive action. In particular, DEFLUXA stabilizes the film Lacrimate and maintains the lubrication of the eye surface by reintegrating the three layers of the lacrimal film: lipid, aqueous and mucinic.
PEA, a natural lipid molecule, integrates the lipid layer of the lacrimal film (the outermost) avoids water hyperevaporation and helps maintain a protective tear layer on the eye surface. Hydrophilic and moisturizing polymers present in DEFLUXA (hyaluronic acid, polyvinyl alcohol, cyclodextrin) retain water and replenish The aqueous layer of the lacrimal film. Hyaluronic acid also has mucomimetic and mucoadesive activity; is therefore able to interact with the mucinic layer and stabilize it. Glycerol has a moistening and osmoprotective action and minerals (sodium, potassium, chloride, citrate, phosphate) have nutritional function of the eye surface as well as function of regulation of pH and osmolarity.
INDICATIONS
DEFLUXA stabilizes the lacrimal film, moisturizes, lubricates and protects the eye surface in all cases of qualitative-quantitative alterations of the lacrimal film, also resulting in chronic treatments with ocular drugs with hypotensive action.
POSOLOGY AND USE MODE
Keep the monodose container vertically above the eye and gently lower the lower eyelid.
Fig. 1 Unpack a single-dose container from the strip keeping it from the bottom opposite the label.
Fig. 2 Lightly beat the monodose container for a few seconds (such as a clinical thermometer) until all the preparation comes into the neck of the container.
Fig. 3 Rotate the top of the monodose container.
Fig. 4 Keep the monodose container vertically above the eye to instill the preparation.
Instill 1 or 2 drops in the eye up to 5 times a day, according to the specialist's opinion, slightly crushing the monodose container. It is recommended to hold the monodose container in vertical position (as from Fig. 4) during instillation.
CONSERVATION AND VALIDITY
- Do not use the product after the validity period shown on the case. This period refers to the product kept at room temperature (≤25°C).
- Keep the product away from the light, keeping the single-dose containers in the aluminum envelope.
- DEFLUXA does not contain preservatives. Then the single-dose container and any unused residue must be eliminated after opening and use. After opening the single-dose container the sterility requirements are no longer guaranteed.
PREVENTIONS
- Wash your hands before use.
- Keep away from the reach and sight of children.
- Do not use in case of specific hypersensitivity to one of the product components.
- Don't ingest the solution.
- Do not instill in the eye at the same time with other ophthalmic products because it could alter the effects, it would be necessary to observe a range of at least 15 minutes between one instillation and the other.
- No contact lenses required.
- Do not use in children under 3 years.
