Descrizione Clinica
Sellalax
2500 mg
Description
Disposable medical device for rectal use in suppositories, indicated to facilitate the evacuating activity of the intestine.
It can be used for short-term treatment of occasional constipation.
Suppose duration and temporary action. Preparations for rectal use based on glycerol demonstrate evacuating activity without the product itself being absorbed by the intestinal mucosa. In fact, glycerol is able, when present in the intestinal lumen, to explicate its activity not consequently to its systemic absorption, but simply on the basis of a physical mechanism.
It softens the feces and acts by lubricating the wall of the rectum, encouraging the intestinal movements and muscle contractions that push the fecal mass to promote its expulsion.
Mode of use
Wash your hands thoroughly before and after using suppositories.
If the suppository is too soft to use, it is recommended to put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes or under cold water, after which it is possible to remove the casing and then to bathe with cold water or with a water-based lubricant to facilitate its insertion.
Drain on a hay and insert the pointed end of the suppository into the rectum. Push completely with your finger, otherwise the suppository can be expelled. Stay lying down, possibly belly down, for a few minutes before sitting or standing. The effect manifests within half an hour.
For only rectal use.
Components
A suppository contains: glycerol 2.315 mg; sodium stearate and sodium bicarbonate q.b. 2.500 mg.
Warnings
Do not ingest, only for rectal use.
Do not use SELLALAX for other use.
Do not use in case of cramps, colic, acute abdominal pain or unknown origin and if suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease. Avoid also use in the presence of nausea, vomiting, blood in the stools, anal spiders, intestinal obstructions and Ileus (loss of the muscle tone of the intestine).
Low levels of potassium in the blood or severe dehydration do not recommend the use of SELLALAX.
Do not administer in case of allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the components.
Do not use SELLALAX after the expiration date printed on the packaging and aluminum container or if the packaging does not appear integral.
SELLALAX is not suitable for children and children under 12 years.
It is advisable to use SELLALAX once a day. Consult your doctor if you have no results or persist in constipation. Prolonged use of evacuants (over 7 days) is not desirable and can lead to dependency. Excessive doses can cause abdominal pain and diarrhea; the consequent losses of liquids and electrolytes must be replaced.
Occasionally you can experience a slight sensation of rectal burning.
Tips for proper intestinal funicularity: drinking plenty of water, increasing fibers in your diet and regularly doing physical activity contributes to the proper functioning of the intestine.
Keep SELLALAX out of the reach of children.
Tell your doctor if:
• absence of any bowel movement, even for a few days, or if you notice a sudden change of its habits or movements that lasts for more than two weeks;
• accidental ingestion;
• the occurrence of unwanted effects;
• concurrent intake of other medicines or medical devices.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding: interactions with other pharmaceutical active ingredients are not known, therefore, in the absence of clinical data and in case of concomitant use with other medicines or medical devices it is recommended to consult your doctor before using SELLALAX.
Conservation
Store in a cool and dry place, away from sun rays and heat sources and at temperatures not exceeding 30 °C.
Do not disperse into the environment after use.
Validity of whole packaging: 60 months.
