Borage oil
Description
Food supplement based on organic borage oil that promotes joint function, integrity and functionality of cell membranes, trophism and skin functionality. It is a product without preservatives, free GMOs and not irradiated.
Borragine oil is obtained by simple cold pressing from the seeds of the plant, without the use of solvents. It is one of the most rich plant sources of gammalinolenic acid (GLA), essential acid of the omega series 6. There are also linoleic, oleic, palmitic, stearic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fatty acid.
The intake of the GLA allows to cross the block of the first ring of the chain and allows the regular occurrence of the biological process of production of prostaglandins that intervene in inflammatory reactions, such as antihypertensive agents and inhibitors of the platelet aggregation. Borage oil has no hypotensive properties, but interferes with the biochemical and cell mechanisms that determine hypertension, ie with aldosterone-renine-angiotensin system.
Gammalinolenic acid is an essential fatty acid for life itself, important constituent of cells and subcellular organelles, participating in the structure of the membranes that delimit them. As a fatty acid, it is also indispensable for the regular metabolism of all lipid fractions (triglycerides and cholesterol). The relationship between fatty acids and cholesterol is fundamental.
A deficiency of unsaturated fatty acids may be responsible for fragile and opaque hair, fragility of nails, dandruff and may predispose to the occurrence of hay fever, bronchial asthma and allergies in general, skin disorders, such as eczema, dermatitis, childhood eczema, non allergic eczema, acne and dry skin, psoriasis, heart disorders, circulatory system abnormalities. The aging action of omega-6 essential fatty acids is implemented through the stimulation of T suppressant lymphocytes, which inhibit the proliferation of smooth muscle cells in the arterial wall, lipid alterations and cardiovascular disorders resulting from it. Unsaturated fatty acids have proven to be effective in preventing prostate disorders and nervous hyperactivity. They are essential for normal glandular activity, especially adrenal glands and thyroid glands.
The administration of GLA reduces the proliferation and activation of intra-arthic T lymphocytes and a double-blind clinical trial has shown that borage oil is useful in treating rheumatoid arthritis, reducing stiffness and joint swelling.
For local applications it is useful in case of dermatitis, wrinkles, stretch marks, dry and depopulated skin. The GLA is effective as emollient, decongestant and cellular regulator; it has also been shown that it promotes the maintenance of natural skin hydration by counteracting trans-epidermal evaporation processes and thus improving skin hydration and elasticity. Also excellent as treatment against aging.
