Precautions
Contact your healthcare provider before catheterism occurs if one of the following situations occurs:
• uretra lesionata;
• bleeding urethra;
• pronounced shrinkage of the urethra;
• false ways;
• urethtritis – urethra inflammations;
• prostatitis – inflammation of the prostate;
• epididymite – inflammation of the epididymis.
Self-cateterism must be practised according to the care plan and the advice of the healthcare provider. Always follow the instructions for use provided. Since the rate of cateterization varies from person to person, the recommended rate of cateterization should be provided by a trusted healthcare provider. For any questions relating to cateterization, please contact your health care provider.
Note
Store packages in horizontal position and at room temperature. This product consists of: thermoplastic gripper (only in 40 cm catheter), PVC connector and catheter body free of phthalates.
Instructions for male use
Use a delicate and unscented detergent or a sage that does not contain alcohol to cleanse the glans and the urethral meate. Choose the location for catheterism that is more comfortable (standing, sitting on the toilet or wheelchair).
Open the package and grab the connector or gripper to extract the catheter.
A: retract the foreskin if present. Remove the gripper from the connector. Keep the gripper anywhere along the body of the catheter, so as not to touch it. With the raised penis, firmly tighten the gripper to start inserting the catheter. Lightly release the gripper and slide it back to the connector. Then, tighten the gripper again firmly to advance the catheter. Repeat until the urine begins to flow. Release the foreskin if present.
B: alternative insert option: hold the gripper "hungry" to the connector. With the raised penis, hold gripper/connector and insert the catheter into the urethra with a hand until the urine begins to flow.
Insert the catheter until the urine begins to flow. Once the urine flow is finished, slowly withdraw the catheter to ensure that the bladder has completely emptied. Remove the catheter gently.
Instructions for female use
Open the lips and cleanse around the urethral side with a delicate and unscented cleanser or with a sage not containing alcohol. Choose the location for catheterism that is more comfortable (standing, sitting on the toilet or on the wheelchair or lying in bed).
Open the package and grab the connector to extract the catheter.
Open the lips with two fingers while inserting the catheter into the urethra. Keep the connector without touching the catheter's body and insert it until the urine begins to flow.
Insert the catheter until the urine begins to flow. Once the urine flow is finished, slowly withdraw the catheter to ensure that the bladder has completely emptied. Remove the catheter gently.
