TEST
EMPLOYMENT
NELLE FECI (FOB)
DescriptionRapid chromatographic immunological test for qualitative detection of human occult blood in feces. Only for autoanalysis diagnostics in vitro.
Mode of use
Let the test, sample and tampon reach ambient temperature (15-30°C) before testing.
1. To collect fecal samples: the sample of feces must be collected in the stool collector. It is important to use stool collection in all types of toilets to avoid sample contamination with any kind of chemical, so that you do not experience sampling adulterations.
2. To process fecal samples: unscrew the sample collection test cap, then randomly thread the sample collection applicator into the fecal sample into at least 3 different sites. Don't collect the fecal sample. Screw and tighten the cap on the sample collection test, then vigorously stir the sample harvesting test to mix the sample and the extraction pad.
3. Bring the envelope to room temperature before opening it. Remove the dipstick from the aluminum envelope and use it as soon as possible. The best results are achieved if the test is executed immediately after opening the aluminum envelope.
4. Fix the reaction test, hold the sample collection test vertically and break the tip of the sample collection test. Turn the sample collection test and transfer 8-10 full drops of the sample extracted (about 500 mcl) into the reaction test, then immerse the dipstick with the arrows facing the extraction pad, and start the timer. Do not dipstick over the maximum line.
5. Read the results at 5 minutes. Do not read the results after 10 minutes.
Positive: two colored lines are displayed. A colored line should be in the region of the control line (C) and another colored line should be in the region of the test line (T).
Note: the color intensity in the region of the test line (T) will vary depending on the concentration of fecal occult blood present in the sample. Therefore, any color shade in the test line area (T) should be considered positive.
Negative: a colored line is displayed in the control line area (C). No line appears in the area of the test line (T).
Not valid: the control line is not displayed. An insufficient sample volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for the failure of the control line. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new test. If the problem persists, stop using the test kit immediately and contact the local distributor.
Warnings
- Only for autoanalis in vitro diagnostics.
- Do not use after the expiry date.
- The test must remain in the sealed envelope until use.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke in the area where samples or kits are manipulated.
- Treat all the samples as if they contain infectious agents. Observe the precautions established against microbiological risks during all procedures and follow standard procedures for correct disposal of samples.
- The test used must be disposed of according to local regulations.
- Humidity and temperature can adversely affect results.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Don't freeze.
- Samples should not be collected during or within three days of the menstrual cycle, or if the patient suffers from bleeding hemorrhoids or blood in the urine.
- Alcohol, aspirin and other drugs taken in excess can cause gastrointestinal irritation resulting in occult bleeding. Such substances should be interrupted at least 48 hours before the test.
- No dietary restrictions are required before using the FOB test.
