Description
Ophthalmic solution containing sodium hyaluronate that, thanks to its muco-mymetic properties and pseudo-plastics, is distributed evenly on the eye surface forming a viscoelastic protective bandage. In this way, by explicating a mechanical action ("rear effect"), Idroflog stabilizes the lacrimal film and reduces friction caused by eye movements and embellishment, protects the surface of the eye by favoring the repair processes resulting from suffering of the cells of the corneal epithelium due to a laying of the lacrimal film. In fact, in cases where the glands assigned to the secretion of the film reduce, for several factors, their normal activity, the corneal surface remains exposed more to external insults. The latter, over time, cause a malfunction of corneal epithelial cells with associated risk of occurrence of annoying inflammatory processes. The application of the Idroflog bandage allows to protect the corneal surface from exposure to external insults and, thanks to the ancillary action of the phosphate sodium hydrocortisone (low dosage cortisonic agent, low anti-inflammatory power and short duration of action), helps to prevent the risk of any relapse of inflammatory phenomena. Hydroflog provides limited use over time and however under direct control of the specialist physician. Finally, Idroflog, thanks to its particular saline composition, restores and maintains at physiological levels the concentrations of important ions, such as sodium, potassium and magnesium, essential for the well-being of the eye surface. The device does not contain preservatives.
Composition
Sodium hyaluronate2 mg/ml, hydrocortisone sodium phosphate 10 mcg/ml, trisodium citrate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium chloride, sodium bibasic phosphate, sodium monobasic phosphate, water for injectable preparations.
Mode of use
Hydrophlog must be dosed individually according to its state and according to the recommendations of its ophthalmologist. In general, instill 1-2 drops of the solution in the joint bag of the eye to be treated, 2-4 times a day. The total duration of treatment is 2-6 months but must be established specifically by the specialist physician and however under his direct control (recommend a follow-up every 30-45 days).
As applied: detach a single bottle from the strip. Remove the top aletta by turning it. Instill 1-2 drops in the joint bag, dropping from above. Hydroflog can also be used when wearing contact lenses.
Warnings
The product, due to its viscoelastic properties, at the time of installation may result in a cloud of sight. Wait for this effect to end before driving vehicles or using machinery.
Hydroflog is only for external use. It should not be used immediately before the administration of medicines for curative purposes, and in the twenty minutes after the application of a possible pharmacological therapy for topical purposes. If you feel a worsening of symptoms during treatment, contact a doctor as soon as possible. Prolonged use may result in inconvenience: the total duration of treatment must be established by the ophthalmologist. In the event that an inflammatory process is already underway, the specialist will decide on the appropriate anti-inflammatory therapy in order to restore the physiological conditions of the eye surface. To reduce the risk of contamination during use, the aluminium envelope should only be opened in case of immediate use of the product. Avoid that the tip of the bottle comes in direct contact with your fingers, with your eye, or with any other surface. In rare cases, a slight disbursement of the sight of instillation has been observed, which is due to the viscosity of the solution. During instillation a slight burning may occur. This feeling, however, is destined to disappear. Contact your ophthalmologist in case of symptoms. Compliance with the instructions in the leaflet reduces the risk of unwanted effects. The product is disposable: after first use throw the bottle even if it contains any residual solution.
Conservation
Store at a temperature between 22°C and 25°C.
