Lovol-esse Duo
Description
Medical device powdered for the preparation of an oral suspension indicated to obtain an effective cleansing of the intestinal tract before endoscopic examinations or special clinical conditions requiring a complete detersion and cleansing of the intestine.
The removal of the solid component present in the colon is essential for an accurate diagnosis when endoscopic examination.
Lovol-esse Duo contains polyethyleneglycol 3350, an inert substance that is not absorbed by the intestine, does not irritate the mucosa, does not ferment and is excreted unchanged by the digestive tract. Polyethyleneglycol 3.350 attracts a large amount of water that causes softening of the fecal mass by stimulating the natural intestinal peristalsis.
Moreover, symeticons present in the formulation, thanks to its antischiumogenous action, is effective in the adsorption of gastrointestinal gas associated with stypsis.
Mode of use
For a complete cleansing of the intestine, necessary for the preparation of certain diagnostic tests (endoscopic or radiological examinations on the large intestine, abdominal ultrasounds) and in other clinical conditions, scrupulously follow the information provided by the center where endoscopic examination is carried out, which usually provides a controlled dietary regimen during the days preceding the examination.
For the extemporaneous preparation of oral suspension, pour the contents of 2 envelopes in 1 liter of water, shake well until obtaining a homogeneous suspension. The suspension must be drunk in 1-2 hours: possibly drinking 250 ml of suspension every 10-15 minutes.
Integrate with 500 ml of water (half liter), until you take a total of 1.5 L (1 liter of preparation and 500 ml of water).
After about 1 hour repeat the preparation with the other 2 envelopes in one liter of water and take as described above, until the intake of 3 liters of suspension.
After taking the first liter, bowel movements and evacuation will begin. The evacuations will be via more liquid until the discharge of clear liquid without fecal residues is obtained. This indicates that the cleaning was done correctly and you are ready to carry out the examination. The intake of the preparation generally does not accompany abdominal disorders and pains.
Components
60 g polyethyleneglycol 3.350 and 80 mg of symeticons; excipients: silicon dioxide, aroma, sodium saccharin.
Warnings
Lovol-esse Duo should not be administered in cases of:
- hypersensitivity known to the product components;
- intestinal stenosis or occlusion;
- the dynamic;
- acute or severe colitis;
- toxic megacolons;
- perforation of the intestine;
- the gastric stasis;
- chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease;
- patients weighing less than 20 kg or under 2 years of age.
There are no experiences about taking during pregnancy and nursing. So, we recommend the use of Lovol-esse Duo only after consulting the doctor.
The product can reduce the time of stay in the intestine and therefore the absorption of drugs administered simultaneously by mouth. Avoid ingesting them together: after taking a medicine let you spend a range of at least 2 hours before taking Lovol-esse Duo.
If you are taking anticoagulants, anti-aggregants or diabetes medications, consult your physician or Endoscopy Center for a possible variation of posology.
The oral suspension must be prepared when taking. In case it is not ingested immediately, the solution must be kept in the refrigerator and still used within 24 hours of its preparation.
Do not add other ingredients to the reconstituted solution.
Symeticons can interfere with the effect of some reagents used in diagnostics, such as sheath rubber.
Before evacuation gastrointestinal disorders, borborigmas, abdominal pain, nausea may appear; if these symptoms become intense, it is necessary to take the product more slowly, thus the symptoms are reduced. Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions occur. Please inform the doctor or pharmacist in case you notice side effects other than those reported in this leaflet.

Keep away from the reach of children. See the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use the device after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use open or damaged bags. Do not store at temperature above 25 °C.
