PEGpol
Description
Medical device in powder for extemporaneous oral suspension useful in the treatment of stypsis. PEGinpol is particularly indicated in chronic constipation and occasionally irregular bowel cases. PEGinpol is a medical device with laxative action that, through osmotic action, regulates the intestine naturally. Thanks in fact to its affinity for water, PEGinpol softens the feces facilitating evacuation without causing cramps, nor abdominal pain, nor emergency conditions. It is not absorbed or fermented in the intestine, it does not irritate the mucosa and is eliminated in the unmodified feces. Its effectiveness is not reduced over time.
Ingredients
A bottle contains: 400 g Macrogol 3350.
Excipients: silicon dioxide, aroma, sodium saccharin.
It does not contain gluten and lactose.
Mode of use
From 6 months to 2 years (up to 12 kg): 0.8 g of product per kg body weight per day.
From 2 to 11 years (from 12 kg to 20 kg): 1 g of product per kg body weight per day.
Over 11 years (or >20 kg): 10-30 g of product per day.
The dose may be increased or decreased depending on the individual response to treatment. The most correct daily posology for age group is to be decided according to the weight of the child and the severity of the stypsis. It is recommended in any case to feel the doctor's opinion for the most correct posology. Use the product in pediatric age only after medical advice. The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 30 g of the product per day. On the basis of the above mentioned posology, take the quantity of product with the aid of the mesurino equipped with heels that allow to dose 0,5 g (before notch), 1 g (second notch) and 2 g (mixed) of product. Melt a satin scoop (equal to 2 g) in about 1/4 glass of water (about 25 ml). Drink the solution so reconstituted. You can split the daily dose into multiple administrations. The product can be reconstituted in advance in the appropriate water volume and the solution kept in the covered refrigerator up to a maximum of 24 hours. It is recommended to take PEGinpol away from meals.
Warnings
Oral suspension must be prepared when taking. It is recommended not to take quantities greater than those indicated, as higher doses may cause unexpected side effects. Do not use PEGinpol for more than 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist to consult your doctor. Do not hire in case of product intolerance. Do not assume in case of hypersensitivity known to components and polyethyleneglycol. Do not use in children under 6 months. During treatment with PEGinpol it is advisable to follow an adequate diet accompanied by the administration of a solution for oral rehydration (ORS) to avoid dehydration; it is however recommended to consult the doctor. Do not use the device after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use in case of damaged packaging. Keep away from the reach of children. If you do not take a double dose, but wait and take the next dose. In case of adverse reactions suspend the use of the product and immediately contact your physician or pharmacist.
Conservation
Store in a cool and dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in the original packaging. The indicated expiry date refers to the correctly stored product in an integral package.
Validity of whole packaging: 36 months.
