This medicine does not require any special condition of conservationWarnings
If symptoms persist or aggravate them, please contact your doctor. In patients with kidney failure it is necessary to reduce posology and monitor kidney function and magnesiemia. It is appropriate to consider the possibility that occurs, during treatment, depression of cardiovascular activity and respiratory activity. SOLUMAG contains sucrose: patients suffering from rare hereditary problems of fructose intolerance, glucosegalactose mal absorption, or isomaltase sucrasis failure, should not take this medicine. SOLUMAG it also contains parahydroxybenzoates, which can cause allergic reactions (also delayed).Interactions
The administration of magnesium can lead to a reduced absorption of tetracyclines and therefore it is recommended not to administer SOLUMAG at the same time to medicines based on tetracyclines, but at 3 – 4 hours distance between administrations. Chinolones should be administered at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after the administration of Magnesium-based products to avoid interference with their absorption. In the case of concomitant administration of magnesium and cholecalciferol it is also recommended to control the calcemy, in order to avoid the possibility of hypercalcemic episodes. We do not recommend the concomitant use of preparations containing calcium salts or phosphate since such products prevent the absorption of magnesium. The simultaneous intake of magnesium-based products with depressing drugs the Central Nevous System can enhance the effects on the magnesium SNC and must be carefully evaluated.Effects
Rare digestive disorders; diarrhea; abdominal pain. Exceptional cases of individual intolerance to ion have been reported, which can be treated with oral or parental antihistamines.Overdosing
Cases of hypermagnesia have been reported as a result of mass administration of magnesium or during the treatment of patients with severe kidney failure. The symptoms observed were: heart rhythm disorders, respiratory depression and neuromuscular transmission disorders. The treatment uses rehydration with restoration of a plentiful diuresis or forced diuresis. In case of kidney failure, dialysis treatment is recommended. It is recommended that in pregnancy and breastfeeding the drug take place under medical control and in cases of actual need.
